I can't believe how much time has passed since I last posted. I used to be so good at posting and now the last 6 or so months I have just fallen behind. Maybe it's because I have never had a 2 year old to keep up with or maybe it's because life is just moving so fast or maybe it's because my blog hasn't been top priority these last months, but whatever the reason I am going to try my best to be better at this.
So here goes another short re-cap of my life over the last month and a half.
Isabelle did very well with her surgery. She was in and out of the hospital amazingly quick if you ask me. I can't believe how quickly they move you out after such a large surgery. I can't say I'm complaining because we have spent more than out share in a hospital so coming home early is good with me. She had a to wear a pretty hefty brace which went from her tummy to about her ankles. It didn't spread her legs out as far as the last brace, so she actually managed very well while she had to wear it.
After 4 weeks she was given the okay to take it off. We were excited about this however, she seemed to be in more discomfort after the brace came off. We had quite few sleepless nights of crying. Finally, after about 3 weeks of being brace free she seems to be having good nights of sleep and is smiling a lot more.
Now that we have that all taken care of she goes in this Tuesday for her next procedure. She is having a J-tube placed in her intestines to hopefully help with her reflux. We were told her reflux would be better by the time she was 2, but it didn't change a whole lot so now we are trying this. We are praying this will work for her and she will have less spit-ups and we won't have to travel around with so many burp clothes anymore.
As for Wesley, he is all 2! That boy never slows down. I tease he makes up for all the lack of movement Izzy doesn't do. He climbs everything, goes into anything that opens and moves constantly. But man is he fun! He brings much laughter to our house and shows such love and compassion for Isabelle. It warms my heart when I see him reach out to interact with her on his own. He loves his sister.
As for me, I have been busy still looking for a new job, taking a class to keep my teaching license up to date, taking care of the household stuff, and being a mommy. This could explain my lack of blogging. I look forward to spending time with Izzy and Wes each night even though some nights I haven't been able to spend as much time because of my class, but still have somehow managed.
Jeff has decided to go back to school this summer to renew his EMT license. He really seemed to enjoy working as an EMT when he did it last, so I am happy to see that he will be getting back into this. From there, he is hoping to go towards being a Paramedic at some point. He is still unemployed which has been quite a challenge income wise, but it has been nice to have him home to watch Wes, so we don't have to pay for that childcare.
That pretty much sums up the major things in this household over the last month and a half. I haven no pictures because our camera died and we can't afford to buy a new one right now, so the pictures will have to wait.
For those of you who follow my blog, thank you for your patience and for continuing to follow my wonderfully blessed life.
It just hits me.....right in the heart!

Definitely sounds like you've been busy! Glad to hear her surgery went well! Praying the J-tube one goes well and it helps her in the end! Hugs!!
